Polar Party

Good morning! I am back again today to share another card with you.

When I was at the Stampin' Up! convention in July they gave us all of these different projects. Some were make-n-takes, some were classes we signed up for in advance, some were hostess thank you gifts and some were workshop demonstration projects. The card I am going to share with you today was meant to be a workshop demonstration card. I was supposed to use the Easy Events stamp set that we were given as one of the many free stamp sets we received for attending convention but when I started putting it together I thought I would like use it for one of the cards I add to my December card buffet and I wanted to use one of the new stamp sets I got recently that is wintry... Polar Party. I thought it would make a nice winter birthday card.

The card base is Pool Party, the focal image is stamped on natural white and matted on Wild Wasabi. That luscious ribbon is the 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon also in Wild Wasabi. The little heart is punched from the owl punch in Real Red. I added a little two-way glue to the white on the hat and to the snow the bear is standing on and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

It is rather simply but I really like it! Oh, I used the now retired ticket corner punch on the corners of the Wild Wasabi mat (you could also use a very small circle punch to get a similar effect) then wrapped white baker's twine around the outside of the mat. Thanks for a great project idea Stampin' Up!

Have a wonderful day, thank you for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Sheri!

Hi there, happy Monday! I am happy today... we have had three consecutive days of sunny warm weather and that makes me smile hugely!! Also, today is my good friend Sheri's birthday. We went to lunch today and had a great time catching up which that makes me happy too. Here is the card I made for Sheri. I cased it from the catalog, page 68, but I made it pink because Sheri's favorite color is pink. After picking the card base color, Blushing Bride, I decided to use the coordinating colors from the 2010~2011 In Colors. All of the balloons and presents are paper pieced and popped up. The card measures 3" x 6" and fits perfectly into Stampin' Up!'s small open-end envelopes.

Right after I finished Sheri's card this morning I went to the Mojo Monday blog to check out this weeks sketch which I absolutely loved!

I decided to use some Jillibean Soup dsp that I have had laying around for awhile just waiting to be used. I created the butterflies with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Beautiful Butterflies die, an old favorite of mine and hung a sweet little charm from the brown jute I wrapped around the card front. I put dimensional pop dots between the layers of butterflies and they really look like they are about to take flight!

I sure enjoyed my morning making these cards, but now I have to clean up the huge mess I made creating them!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great week!

Home for the Holidays

As promised, I am back today to share with you the scrapbook pages I have created for my class on December 30th. I was inspired by a layout I found online by Monique Griffith. She is the Cricut Queen in my humble opinion! Her layouts are stunning, real works of art!

There are so many pieces on these pages, it's a little bit crazy... but I am happy with them and hope my scrapbooking group will be too! I used the Winter Woodland and Everyday Paper Dolls cartridges. The paper is by Bo Bunny, an old line called Midnight Frost. I am looking forward to teaching this class, it has been awhile since I had a scrapbook page class.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Gift Card Holders Galore!

Hi there, I hope you are having a great week. Mine has sure been productive! I have been getting ready to go away with some girlfriends for a scrapbook getaway weekend. We are leaving on Thursday and will be back on Sunday. I have gotten all of my pictures printed and my supplies gathered and I think I am now ready to go! Yippie!!!

I have also been busy getting ready for my December classes, since I won't be back until October 30th I needed to get those done! I am so excited about the adorable gift card holders I have created for a class I will be having on December 9th. Here's a look at the five gift card holders we will be completeing in the class.

It makes me a little sad that the pictures never do the projects justice... but you get the idea!
Tomorrow I will share with you the scrapbook pages I have created for my December class.

Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday... here I come!

Hi there! It has been awhile since I have played along with the girls on the Mojo Monday blog so it felt wonderful today to take some time and create a card using this weeks sketch. Here is a picture of the sketch, I encourage you to get crafty today too and perhaps make a card yourself using this weeks sketch!

And here is my card I created using the sketch.

This was the first time I used the Beau Chateau dsp and I found it to be quite pretty. Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla make a very lovely color combination! When I was trying to decide what I wanted to put in the lower right hand corner of my focal image I remembered the Beautiful Wings embosslit, which I haven't used in quite some time, however is still a favorite of mine. I am also really loving the Designer Series embossing frames, such an easy way to add some "fancy."

Well thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful week!
