April Classes

Hello again... I told you I would be back :) I have completed my April class samples and wanted to share them with you today. The first class is a tall box with cards. When I first saw the Woodland Walk dsp in the Stampin' Up! catalog I never thought it would be something I would use but then I stumbled across a card some time ago and fell in love with it. I wish I could remember where I found it and cased it from because I would love to give credit to the amazingly talented person who designed the card.... anyways, I changed it up a bit and created a coordinating box to hold a set of four cards, two each of the two shown.

The next project I will be doing in April is my monthly Stamp-A-Stack. I really wanted to use the new Sale-A-Bration Ice Cream Parlor dsp and ribbon. I also used stamp sets from the Sale-A-Bration brochure as well. All of the items I used for this class can be earned for FREE! Ask me how if you are interested :)

The last class I have created for April is a 12x12 double page layout. I loooove this new paper. It is from My Mind's Eye and it is sooooo pretty! In fact I loved it so much I bought more of it to create next months pages as well!

Well that is it for today... gotta get back to work! Have a great day and thanks again for stopping by!

Monday Monday!!

Good morning! I have missed blogging these past couple of weeks! My in-laws have been here from the Netherlands and I have been preoccupied with them. Gosh, are you ready for winter to be over?!? I am so tired of this weather, I need some sunshine in my life! Tomorrow is March first and we have several inches of snow on the ground here in Howell, Michigan... blah!

I have been busy preparing classes for April which I will share later today. For now I just want to share with you a card I have made for the Mojo Monday challenge. (So happy to get to play along this week!!) I made this card for my niece Abigail, she is such a sweetie! She is turning eight on St. Patrick's Day. The patterned paper I chose to use is by Quick Quotes Paper (it is from the Mary's Garden line). Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Happy Belated Valetines Day!

I can't believe I missed it! It all started a couple of weeks ago. My husband and I had gone out for dinner and stopped by Best Buy to check out e-readers on our way home. While we were out we decided to check Borders to look at the Kindle and then Barnes and Nobles to check out the Nook. At some point during the all browsing around he let on that he had been wanting to buy me an e-reader for Valentines Day! (Lucky me!!) We were really undecided until we walked into Barnes and Nobles... there to greet us as soon as we came in the door was a Nook Color display. We walked over to the display and fell in love! With the Nook... he and I were obviously already in L♥O♥V♥E haha! We walked out that night with not one but two Nook Colors, we bought them for each other for Valentines Day. So it is easy to see how I forgot all about Valetines Day since I got my valentine a couple of weeks ago.... right!?!

On top of that my in-laws arrived Saturday from the Netherlands and we have been very preoccupied with them. Which is going to be my excuse for missing the Mojo Monday challenge yesterday morning. Usually I check the blog right after I get home from taking my kids to school, but yesterday I went to the grocery store to get the ingredients for dinner last night (spaghetti with meatballs... YUM!!) Then after I put the groceries away and cut up the fruit for lunch and helped my in-laws book a little trip to Chicago it was lunch time already! So after lunch I was checking my email for the hotel reservation confirmation for my in-laws and what did I see?? The Mojo Monday challenge... sitting right there in my in box. So I ran over to my desk and got busy right away. It was when I was choosing my sentiment that it dawned on me that it was Valentine's Day. I'll admit I freaked out a little because I hadn't gotten my kids a valentine yet and it was almost time to pick them up from school! So I finished the card I was working on, rushed out the door, went to the store to shop for valentines, cards (no time to make them!), candy, a gift bag... sheesh, it is exhausting just remembering yesterday LOL! I rushed to pick up the kids, got home, helped my son apply for a summer job at Cedar Point, started dinner, finished preparing for a class I have tonight, ate dinner, cleaned the kitchen watched a movie with the in-laws, who were fast asleep 15 minutes after it started (Lucky them! Jetlag...) then finally went to bed myself. When I got up this morning I was surprised to see my Mojo Monday card sitting right there on the desk where I left it in my mad rush, amidst all the clutter of spontaneous card making.
I made this card for my husband... I am sure he won't mind getting it a day late :)

Happy belated Valetine's Day! Thanks for stopping by!

Putting Monday on a Pedestal

I think I must be weird. Most people dread Mondays but I always wake up energized and ready to start the week. Today I have been working on a hostess gift for my friend Sue who is hosting stamp club tomorrow morning and also preparing for a class I have on Friday. Of course I had to take some time out once the Mojo Monday challenge was posted so I could play along.

I recently realized that I love stamping on Crumb Cake paper. I had never thought of it as a neutral for stamped images but I am loving it. It has a nice muted look. I better get back to work, lots to do before scrapbook leagues tonight! Have a wonderful day.

A New Twist!

I completely forgot to get back here to post my class samples! Oops! And now I have created something I am more excited about LOL! So the class samples post will have to wait :) Today I went in search of some inspiration for a make-n-take for my stamp club on Tuesday. I knew I wanted to use one of the new Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. After much deliberation I chose to use Bliss... it is sooooo pretty, I absolutely love it! You can get this beautiful stamp set for FREE with any $50 order... woohoo! Who doesn't love FREE! (I would be happy to place that order for you!)

In addition to using a new stamp set with my stamp club I often like to find new creative folds for cards or new techniques to share as well. Today I came across a "new twist" on the easel card here, I also learned a new technique for creating the pleated paper ribbon, I can't wait to share this with them! Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.
