Sweet Treats soooo Sweet!

I created this little card for my cricut class on the 12th. We have been working with the Sweet Treats cartridge and I wanted to make a card that opens in a unique way. I loooove how it turned out. It is so sweet! I found inspiration for this project on youtube, a great resource for cricut project videos. There are a couple of subtle details you might miss if you don't look closely... I added smooch pearlized top coat to the cupcake and crystal effects to the heart, it is very shimmery and shiny! Thanks for taking a peek!

Monday... Monday!

Happy Monday! I am so excited to participate in Mojo Monday this week. Last week I was away at Crystal Mountain skiing with my wonderful husband and never found the time when we got back home to do the challenge. So this morning I dropped my kids off at school, picked up a few groceries (big snow storm predicted for us tonight!) then got right home and went straight to work on the challenge. I have also been very busy preparing my March class samples and I will post those later today or early tomorrow if all goes as planned, so check back later! Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Little Sneak Peek!

Hi there! I have a sneak peek for you today from one of my upcoming classes. I have wanted to do a sweet treat cups class ever since the first time I laid eyes on the Sweet Centers stamp set in the Holiday Mini last year! I am not sure why I kept putting it off, perhaps I was a bit intimidated by it. But then came Something Sweet in the Occasions Mini last year and finally Sweetheart debuted in the new catalog in July and I still had not planned a class. So this morning I pulled out all of my ideas I had been filling away for the past year and I got busy! I am so excited about how the cards are turning out. They are adorable! Let me know if you would like to see another one! Have a wonderful day, thanks for dropping in!

Paper: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Punches: 1 3/4" Circle, Eyelet Border

Greeting Kids Love

Good morning! I made this card last night at about 11pm, that may not mean much to you but I am generally in bed at 9pm. However, after Scrapbook Leagues at Scraptales last night I was feeling inspired and I hadn't had time to work on the Mojo Monday sketch so I got busy! I love this stamp set, it reminds me of the books my elementary school used to teach reading. Do you remember Dick and Jane? (And Sally and Spot.) Well this little sweetie reminds me of Jane.... (Pose Jane, pose!) I paper pieced Janes dress, hair bow and the heart she is holding. I think she looks so sweet... thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Paper: Vanilla, Red Ridinghood, Basic Black, Love Letter dsp

Busy, busy, busy!

Gosh, after several weeks of feeling very relaxed and laid back I am now busy, busy, busy! Today I have two stamp club meetings. One this morning and one again this evening and then a class tomorrow morning. Needless to say, I have been working like crazy to get everything prepared. I did make time last night for the Mojo Monday challenge (I told you it was something I look forward to each Monday!) For my card I used the Springtime Vintage dsp from the Occasions Mini Catalog, which I am absolutely in LOVE with! The sentiment is from the "Friendly Words" jumbo wheel. I always take my stamps off the wheel, mount them and use them on a block. Sometimes I even cut them into pieces so I can just use part of the stamp very easily. Thanks for stopping by today, I have been feeling very inspired and have lots to share with you, if only there were more hours in the day!

Stamps: Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Springtime Vintage dsp
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Punches: Wide Oval, Itty Bitty Shapes
Ribbon: Very Vanilla Taffeta
Misc: Perfect Polka-dots EF, Lots of Tags Sizzlits, Bitty Buttons, Pearls

Take a Spin!

Today I made a birthday card for my brother-in-law. I used the new "Take a Spin" stamp set and game spinner embellishments that are now available in the Occasions Mini catalog. I wasn't sure if I would use this stamp set very much but upon closer inspection today I found it has the potential to make birthday, graduation, baby, anniversary, wedding, mother's day, father's day cards and much more.... how is that for a versatile stamp set? Today's card was cased from this card made by Jessica... but of course I added my own "spin" on it! http://expressivedesigns.wordpress.com/2010/12/28/lets-take-a-spin/ Thanks for stopping by!

Another day, another challenge...

Good morning! Today I decided to play along with the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge (that is a mouthful!) It is a challenge put on by a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators. The challenge this week was to use black, white, silver and sparkle to ring in the new year. I wanted to make a tall card today and I love the now retired "It's a Stretch" stamp set for tall cards. (I was SO sad to see that one retire, I love it!) I embossed the image in silver and then colored it in. Layered it on Melon Mambo, then on Basic Black and finally on some shiny silver paper I had in my stash. The dsp will soon be available for free! It will be one of the items offered during Sale-A-Bration which is kicking off in just a few weeks! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

I've got my Mojo on...

I think my favorite thing about Monday is being inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch. Today I created a card using my very first stamp set, Fun and Fast Notes. I recieved it in my Starter Kit when I became a demonstrator. Believe it or not, before I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I didn't own a single stamp! I went to a Stampin' Up! party at my sister's house and I remember thinking, "What on earth will I buy at a Stampin' Up! party?!?" HA! Little did I know I would be a demonstrator within a week... that was three and a half years ago and I won't mention how many stamp sets ago *ahem* Thanks for taking a peek!

Stamps: Fun and Fast Notes, Tiny Tags, En Francais
Paper: Basic Gray, Concord Crush, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Lap of Luxury dsp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Concord Crush, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Pear Pizzaz

Cricut 101

Hi there! Today I have been busy preparing for a cricut class I am teaching on Saturday. I wanted to have a simple project for everyone to create using the "Sweet Treats" cartridge that they will be bringing with them to class. I cased this card from Jenn who cased it from Joy.

FYI... CASE = Copy and Steal Everything! Feel free to "case" it yourself! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!! I feel like I am off to a good start! I have my blog up and running and I have finally finished my February Classes as well... Woohoo! Most of you have probably been focused on Christmas during the month of December, but for me it was a big birthday month as well. During December I hosted my grandma's 97th birthday party... yep, you read that right, 97!! We also celebrated my sons 18th, my nephews 6th, my brothers 40-something-or-other and my dear friend Claudia's as well. So I really have been thinking about birthdays a lot here lately and that is reflected in my upcoming classes. My Stamp~A~Stack features masculine birthday cards, my scrapbook pages are great for any special birthday celebration, and of course my previously posted birthday cake box with cards. That just leaves my project class which I am super excited about! It is a ten page recipe book filled with my most often requested recipes by class attendees. Can you say Bon Appetit?!?
